«Société de la Viscose Suisse»

Société de la Viscose Suisse is founded by Ernst Carnot and began production of viscose filament yarn (artificial silk/rayon).

High-tenacity viscose

Starts production of high-tenacity viscose filament yarns for the tire industry.

First nylon factory

Switzerland’s first nylon factory is constructed and begins producing polyamide 6.6 filament yarns for textile applications.

Expansion of polyamide 6 filament yarn

Flat polyamide 6 filament yarn penetrates technical markets, and the introduction of textured polyamide 6 filament yarns advances the carpet industry.

Introduction of monofilament

Monofilament production is established in Switzerland and France.

Monofilament Expansion

Management directs a strategic shift towards expansion of monofilament production capacity.

Acquisition of Stilon

Acquired the technical fiber division of Stilon in Poland.

Acquisition of Rhodia Industrial Yarns

Acquired and renamed Rhodia Industrial Yarns; forming a joint venture between Tersuisse Multifils SA and Ferrari.

Nexis Fibers AG

Nexis Fibers AG,established by Butler Capital Partners.

Foundation of Monosuisse AG

SEFAR acquires monofilament operations and activities from Nexis Fibers AG; and founds  Monosuisse AG.

Acquisition of Romanian company Monotex

Monotex and Sider Arc F&M (monofilament producer since 1956) join the Monosuisse Group, strengthening Monosuisse’s presence in Eastern and Southern Europe.

Expansion to Mexico

Monosuisse Group builds and opens a new factory in the city of Querétaro, Mexico.

Acquisition of Bedea GmbH's Filament Division

Monosuisse Worldwide – Strong Roots, Global Reach

The Monosuisse Group operates sites in six countries worldwide. Its headquarters and main production facility are located in Emmenbrücke, Switzerland, in a historic industrial area by the Emme River, covering nearly 84.000 m².

In Gorzów, Poland, the plant is situated in the “Stilon” industrial zone, about 3 km from the city center. The Sighișoara, Romania site is in a new industrial area near the historic town center.

The Mexican facility is located in the “Parque Industrial Querétaro,” 30 km north of Querétaro, with a total area of 6,850 m². In Germany, Monosuisse GmbH operates in Asslar, around 80 km north of Frankfurt.

A new site in Thailand, located in a well-established industrial zone, will further strengthen the group’s presence in the Asian market. The facility is scheduled to open during the course of 2025.
