Job Profile

Plastics technologists specializing in extrusion work primarily in production. For each order, they determine the required amount of raw material and set up computer-controlled production systems. This involves programming key parameters such as temperature, pressure, and speed. They monitor production processes, troubleshoot issues, prepare test reports, and compile statistics. They test and assess product quality and often take on organizational and planning tasks. In addition to production, they may also work in the laboratory or office.

Vocational School in Aarau

The vocational school is located in Aarau. From the 1st to the 3rd semester, apprentices attend classes two days per week, and from the 4th semester onwards one day per week. With good academic performance, it is possible to pursue the vocational baccalaureate.

In addition, apprentices attend inter-company courses (38 days) at KATZ in Aarau, where they acquire and practice professional fundamentals.

Practical Training at Monosuisse

At the workplace, apprentices work under the supervision of their vocational trainer within the team and are assigned tasks according to their level of training. Here, they gain essential professional experience, both in technical and interpersonal aspects.
